Once all bidding is exhausted, and no more bids are received, then the time will tick down to zero, and the auction will close and the top bidder will be awarded as the winner of the auction. There is also an "extend all" feature enabled on the real estate. If properties WITHIN THE SAME CATALOG get extended, then all will extend.
